The Software Architecture research group (SWA group) at the Department of Computer Science of the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Hochschule Hannover, HsH), Germany, performs applied research in the field of complex software architectures and intelligent systems. The research activities focus on innovative software architectures (e.g. Event-Driven Architectures, EDA), real-time analysis of massive data streams (especially Complex Event Processing, CEP), and data analytics (e.g. machine learning, swarm algorithms).

In close cooperation with external partners from industry and academics the applicability innovative software technology for real-world problems is in the center of investigation. Current applied research projects address the application domains sensor networks, RFID for laboratory logistics, traffic management, machine-to-machine communication (M2M), and Internet of Things (IoT).

The work of the SWA group is supported by the European Community (Europaeischer Fonds für regionale Entwicklung – EFRE) and by the Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Technologie.

The research is part of the research cluster Smart Data Analytics of HsH.
